Facial Expressions. They are a form of non-verbal communication. Our feelings can be conveyed without even uttering a word, if the other person observes closely. Facial expressions play a very important role in drawing cartoons. Even if it's a simple eyebrow raise or a wide open mouth, every single line defines the emotion of the character. It expresses it's feelings. The key in drawing cartoon expressions is 1. To exaggerate the features. 2. Break the symmetry. 3. Follow the weight/inverse rule. Mewar art or Rajasthani art is one of my favorite art styles. This is a Traditional art style. It is one of the most important schools of Indian miniature paintings of the 17th and 18th centuries. It was developed in Hindu principality of Mewar(in Rajasthan State). It is very similar to Mughal art style and is often confused. I really love the beautiful features of the Men and Women depicted here, mostly from the royal families. The colors are also bright and very lovely. I tried to draw a Queen in this style. I used a picture of Rani Padmini as reference. click here to see the Reference . That's all for now! Bye! ~~~~~~~Chinmayee. S
