Perspective Drawing

Image
Here's an assignment about perspective.  This one is called '2-Point perspective' in which you have two vanishing points. This method makes it look three dimensional.  Hope you like it! Bye! ~~~~~~~Chinmayee. S

Monochrome composition

I wasn't kidding when I said that people were obsessed with monochrome... I'm obsessed too! Here, I've done a composition using only triangles and filling it in with black ink: (I wonder where Bill Cipher is now?) Here is one using only squares: Here's one using only circles: And here's the one in which all the three shapes are combined: Well, that's all...! Bye! ~~~~~~~Chinmayee. S

Symmetry : The Sage

Image
Experiments say that, a symmetric face is the prettiest. The more symmetry you have, the more attractive you are. We tend to search for patterns in everything. Music, Behaviours and Art. It is human tendency. Today's activity had me thinking so...a small craft activity. Funny how craft can make you think, right? Yeah, anyway...This is the one we did in class. The face of a man. We were shown the basic properties of how to draw a face. The proportions to follow and such. Again, simple shapes to make a 'manly' face.  Marking the parts to be cut.  Cutting out the marked details. "WHO IS DISTURBING MY SOLITUDE...!!! "  Adding details and dimensions to the hair and... Finally sticking it on Black background to highlight it. Everyone seems to be obsessed with monochrome, don't you think? And here sits a sage, a holy soul, deep in meditation.... ---Chinmayee.S

Monochrome Art: Paper Bird

Image
"Life is in colour, but black and white is more realistic" --- Samuel Fuller As an arts and animation student, I know how wonderful and important colours are. But nothing has intrigued me more than how black and white blend so well with each other. The play of light and darkness is so mesmerizing , it creates an effect that other colours cannot capture that well. That is what we re-realized today in class. With a small craft activity. We made a Dove in flight using white paper and pasting it on black paper to make it pop! Simple Basic shapes turned into one whole bird whe n we added details.     Cutting out the wings of the bird and giving it details made it feel Feathery. Adding dimension by creasing and folding the feathers. And finally sticking the pieces of the bird onto the black background so that it can fly freely.    Fly Bird...Be free ...!!  Chinmayee .S
