Monochrome Art: Paper Bird
"Life is in colour, but black and white is more realistic" --- Samuel Fuller
As an arts and animation student, I know how wonderful and important colours are. But nothing has intrigued me more than how black and white blend so well with each other. The play of light and darkness is so mesmerizing, it creates an effect that other colours cannot capture that well.
That is what we re-realized today in class. With a small craft activity.
We made a Dove in flight using white paper and pasting it on black paper to make it pop!
Simple Basic shapes turned into one whole bird when we added details.
Cutting out the wings of the bird and giving it details made it feel Feathery.
Adding dimension by creasing and folding the feathers.
And finally sticking the pieces of the bird onto the black background so that it can fly freely.
Fly Bird...Be free...!!
